Ardoch is a children’s education charity focused on improving educational outcomes for children and young people in disadvantaged communities.

Multiple studies in Australia have demonstrated an unacceptable link between the socio-economic status of students and their educational outcomes. 1 in 3 children in Australia’s most disadvantaged communities start school developmentally vulnerable and they continue to fall behind as they progress through school.

Ardoch partners with schools and early years services to deliver tailored education support programs that aim to increase engagement in education, build aspirations, enhance learning outcomes and increase the confidence of children and young people living in disadvantaged communities. We mobilise community and workplace volunteers to support schools and early childhood services. We also advocate for and seek to influence policy change to reduce inequity in education. Ardoch’s volunteer programs support the education of children by developing skills in literacy and numeracy, providing positive adult role models and developing social skills in children and young people in need of additional support. We have three key program areas: Literacy Support, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Support and Broadening Horizons, including Pathways Beyond School

Ardoch relies on the support of the community to raise more than $2 million each year with more than 93 percent of our revenue comes from fundraising efforts.  This is why we need your support! Please join us on Saturday 5th of May as a participant and active fundraiser in Ardoch’s Great Race to put your problem solving and teamwork skills to the test as you race around some of Melbourne’s great landmarks deducing clues, solving puzzles and competing in challenges.
